Angel of the North - The Angel of the North is a piece of modern sculpture by Anthony Gormley, which after several attempts to locate it elsewhere was erected in Gateshead, England (). As the name suggests, it is a steel sculpture of an angel, standing 20 metres tall, with wings 54 metres - making it wider than the Statue of Liberty is tall. Antony Gormley - Antony Gormley (born 1950) is an English sculptor. He is best known among the general public as the creator of Angel of the North, a controversial piece of public sculpture in Gateshead. Solar Pyramid - The Solar Pyramid is a proposed sculpture in Poolsbrook Country Park, Staveley. When it is completed it will take the form of a 45 metre tall sundial, making it the world's largest artwork (according to its creators - although see B of the Bang) and over twice as tall as Angel of the North. Quantum Cloud - Antony Gormley's Quantum Cloud was commissioned for a site next to the Millennium Dome in London. At 30 metres high, it is Gormley's tallest sculpture to date (taller than the Angel of the North).
